Global Development Incubator launches start-ups focused on social impact. They incubate partnerships to spark collective change. They lay the foundations for promising organizations to reach their potential. They were founded by Dalberg and are now an independent not-for-profit organization.

Why We Partnered:

Global Development Incubator released a groundbreaking study in 2012 called “Catalyzing Smallholder Agricultural Finance” and has been leading the Initiative for Smallholder Finance (ISF); a multi-funder initiative to design, pilot and scale new smallholder finance solutions. The Foundation is a member of the ISF Steering Committee, which is linked to over 750 influential global and local agriculture finance stakeholders. Through the partnership, the Foundation will gain credible insights that will encourage more effective, evidence-based programs in rural and agricultural finance. The Foundation will also gain best practices, including tools and methods for obtaining real-time feedback from farmers, will be adopted by rural and agricultural finance providers. Moreover, the Foundation will gain strengthened capacity to monitor and evaluate program impact.
