Research and Learning

Our Approach

Research, evaluation and learning are central to our work.

Credible evidence helps us fine-tune our programs and identify ideas and approaches with the potential to alleviate poverty.

We invest in research and evaluation activities that reflect individual project goals, program strategies, learning agendas and theories of change.

Our work is guided by the following principles:

  • Our research and evaluation activities are strategic and applied for impact.
  • The methods we use are appropriate, ethical and rigorous and respond to the Foundation’s learning questions and context.
  • We work with our partners and stakeholders to elevate the voices of the people being served and to leverage local knowledge.
